Meesapulimalai is recognised as a UNESCO heritage site and is one of the longer treks available in Munnar. This trek is operated by the Kerala Forest Department and is a much sort after a trek in Kerala. This trek follows trails of tea, eucalyptus, and pine to finish in pristine montane grasslands and shola grassland complex - an ecosystem unique to the southern Western Ghats.
