Hemmed in by the richly verdant hills of the Western Ghats, the hill station of Munnar offers visitors many vantage points to enjoy the prospects of its beautiful landscapes. Located on one of these enviable vantage points is Pothanmedu, on the Bison Valley Road, almost at the entry point to the hill town, 3km away. Bison Valley is named after its population of Indian gaur, which is found plentifully here. From the Pothanmedu Viewpoint, you can soak in the grand spectacle of the surrounding hills and then later on cycle along to Munnar Town to enjoy its many attractions.

The Pothamedu Viewpoint on Bison Valley Road is located 3 km away from Munnar. You will use different routes from and to Munnar to reach the viewpoint. You will be cycling through the Munnar town, Head Works Dam, Chokkanad estate etc. giving you a complete picture of Munnar, its people and their way of life. On a clear day, your view will be full of glorious green fields of tea as far as your eye can see on the horizon.
