Set atop a hill, 5km west of Udaipur city, Sajjan Garh is also called the Monsoon Palace, for the fabulous views, it would provide of the monsoon clouds over Udaipur city. The hill, a small punctuation in the Aravalli mountains, and also known as Bansdara, dominates the verdant reaches of the Sajjangarh Wildlife Sanctuary. Commissioned in 1884 the palace was originally supposed to feature a nine-storied astronomical observatory. Regardless, the palace which also served as a hunting lodge is timeless in its grace and excellent location to this day.
