Day by Day Itinerary in Detail

Day 1: Kathmandu

Meet your tour guide representative at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to the hotel. Board the vehicle for a drive to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Swoyambhunath Temple (the 'Self-Existent One'). Swoyambhunath was established more than 2,500 years ago by King Manadeva. Swoyambhunath is the most sacred among Buddhist Pilgrimage sites.

Continue to Kathmandu Durbar Square, located in the heart of the old city of Kathmandu. Explore Bahal, where hippies had their second home in the late 50s. Later, walk from Thaithy Chowk to Kathmandu Durbar Square, in the heart of the old city. The square is a maze of narrow streets lined by souvenir shops, vegetable vendors, and historical monuments. Visit the 17th Century Durbar complex, Hanuman Dhoka, Paravati Temple, Great Bell and Drum, Bhairav and Taleju Temple. Stop by the glittering bead market for custom-made bead necklaces. Enjoy free time at Thamel.

Day 2: Kathmandu

After breakfast, visit Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the abode of the Malla dynasty till 1769. The "City of Devotees” was renowned for its elegant art, fabulous culture, colourful festivals, traditional dances and typical Newari lifestyle. Visit the Royal Palace, the Golden Gate, and the entrance to the Palace of 55 Windows, Nepal's most significant piece of art. Head to the highest temple in Kathmandu Valley, the Nyatapola Temple, to admire centuries-old pagoda-styled construction.

In the old Newar city of Patan, explore the historic Durbar Square, the Golden Gate, the towering temple of Taleju and the statue of Yogendra Malla. Prominent sights in the square include Krishna Mandir, Sati Temple, Hiranya Varna Mahabiar (the golden temple), and Mahabouddha. Observe the old carved wooden windows, curios shops and bustling bazaars. Then, head to the Tibetan Singing Bowl & Healing Center for a short sound healing therapy session using handmade Tibetan bowls. The vibrations of the bowls are said to cure headaches, back pain, stress and insomnia. Receive blessings from the House of Kumari, The Living Goddess, a chosen virgin manifesting the divine female energy or Shakti before enjoying lunch at a local restaurant. Later, visit the home of a local host for a traditional dinner. Experience a different world of vibrant cultures, colourful festivals, generation-old craftsmanship, traditional hospitality and Nepalese-style cooking.

Day 3: Kathmandu - Pokhara

Day 4: Pokhara

After breakfast, drive to Kalimati to visit the World Peace Stupa, situated on a hill on the southern shore of Phewa Lake. The shrine enjoys a beautiful vantage point with views of the Annapurna range and Pokhara below. Walk through the forest-clad slopes, learning about the flora and fauna. On the way, visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp with Tashiling and Tashi Palkhel villages. Interact with Tibetan people who produce and trade woollen carpets and other handicrafts. Visit a local house and sip a cup of tea.

Transfer to Phewa Lake to enjoy a one-hour boat ride. The second largest lake and most enchanting of lakes in the Kingdom is the highlight of Pokhara. After the boat ride, relax or shop in the lakeside market, spend time at a cafe and soak up the splendid scenery.
