Recapture the romance of rail travel and the splendours of ‘Incredible India’ on not one but four versions of the Maharajas Express. How’s that for some sumptuous holiday experiences in one of the world’s most exciting countries?

While many travellers, both from home and abroad, may be familiar with the regal delights of the Palace on Wheels, there are many more still who need to discover the joys of the Maharajas' Express, shunting out of the yard, to many exotic destinations across India. Another flagship luxury train from IRCTC Maharajas' Express offers boundless moments and memories of unutterable joy in the ‘Discovery of India’ from a different perspective.

The combination of rail travel and its thrilling stage posts along the route on these four different trains is something you won’t forget in a hurry. It offers plenty of substance to create the perfect storybook for fireside tales for friends and family when you are long gone from this legendary land.

Did you know that the Indian Railway today stands as one of the largest and busiest rail networks in the world? Catering to over 18 million passengers and carrying more than 2 million tonnes of freight daily, it traverses the length and breadth of the country and covers 6,909 stations - a gigantic route of more than 63,327 km. With a workforce of 1.5 million, it is the single largest employer in the world.

This is the perfect backdrop for the royal lineage of IRCTC’s Maharajas' Express, which has rapidly advanced to become one of the world’s top luxury trains. In 2013 it was the Winner of the World Travel Award for the category “World’s Leading Luxury Train”, a title it has won time and again since it was first launched in 2010.

In the present season, you have a superb choice of four luxurious journeys on the Maharajas' Express; these span five northern and north-central states of India, with stoppages at some of their most iconic cities. The four journeys are categorised as:
